Rocks

Rocks...

Someday I will look back and be sad at this memory. Because it will not be a reality anylonger. But today, I smile at the rocks that I found in my little boys pockets as I went to wash his jeans. How something so small and simple could bring such pleasure to a 2 year old is beyond me...and how something so silly as rocks in pockets, could cause this mommy to smile so contently and deeply, is just amazing. One day I will miss rocks in the pockets!

CLEAN

I need to clean my house today
said little annie with much dismay...
its loaded with a bunch of junk
and i am caught in an ugly funk
it seems to collect more dirt each day
and never seems to allow much play
there are dishes piled miles high
the dust balls might just reach the sky
the floors cry out, please please wash me
and the toilets not even fit for pee
there is popcorn in the lazy chair
and in the sink, there is a hair
the laundrys smelling pretty bad
my tables looking pretty sad
the stove looks like a bomb blew up
there is curdled milk in my favrite cup
the beds are messed the tub is icky
the kitchen floor is ever so sticky
and you say its impossible and frown...
I think I've decided....lets just burn it down!

6th St Renovation

Wow!
It still amazes me. God has provided yet once again! A few weeks ago, we received a phone call from a non-profit organization that renovates homes. Our house is on the top of the list for potential historical restorations. We sent in all of application materials, and then last week we were informed that we were accepted. The men in charge of the project came by the house to take pictures and such.
We are looking at a new roof, new flooring, new walls possibly, landscaping, light fixtures...the list goes on. So, here we go on a new adventure! Cant wait to see the finished project!!!!

Congrats Abbie!!!

What a little smartie girl...

Abbie entered into a Bible verse contest in our local paper. She had to research 3 verses and find them in the Bible, then write them down. She and Brian worked on this, and then I walked her to the post office. Abbie prayed that her name would be drawn. (Faith of a child) Sure enough, she was called a few weeks later. She won this BIG BIBLE!!! Way to go Abbie!!!

Aprils Fool!

I wanted to share our April Fools day joke that we pulled on Brian (my dh)Most of you know that Brian is a Senior Pastor...Last week, I called all the church members and asked them to be 15 min late for church today. Three families were also supposed to bring a card...So, at 10:00 am today, only our family was at the church. It was completly EMPTY!! Att 10:05 Brian came in red faced, and said..."I quit..I can't handle this anymore...if they dont want a church, then there wont be one!" He went in to his office and shut the door and starting reading Ezra 9 "3And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied" LOL!!!!at 10:15, the entire church lined up in the foyer, and walked single file into Brian's office. The first person handed him a card that said "Happy" the second handed him a card that said "April's" and the third a card that said "Fool"He didnt get it at first b/c he was still mad that no one was there...And then all of a sudden he got it. He started laughing and got even more red in the face, and told everyone in the church that they were so mean. He thought it was hilarious! He still is chuckeling over it. And so am I. Here is his picture as he just realized what was going on...he didnt even realize i was taking his picture. I just happend to catch him as he looked up...

Bunk Beds....

LOL...The love of my littles lives right now. Bunk Beds! Abbie and Isaac love their bunk bed...Isaac loves it too much!

Today, he decided to jump from the top bunk...Keep in mind that he just turned 2!!! He landed on the connector prongs to the dvd player. They dug deep into his forehead, and he got a pretty bruised nose also. He looks like a bruiser boy for sure. He bled ALOT and we took him in...Ended up that indeed the wounds were deep enough for stitches, but he tore off the skin in that area, so there was nothing left to stitch...Just chunks! EEEEEWWWW!!!!

Mamma Called the Dr and the Dr Said...NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!!!!

Gotta Get a Cheerie in...

Ok, reflecting on this week...I have to put a cheery in here. I found a book that my mom gave me to read several years ago. It is the Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkenson...While I dont believe everything in the book, it did have something that really made me stop and say hmmmm...

1. In the book, it talks of a man who enters a town of anybodies. The town is dirty and oppressed by Darkness. The man realizes that developing this town into something that Glorifies God is his dream...and that is Brians. It has been my dream in the past, but I have let giants and bullies destroy my dream...no longer... I need to support his God given dream more. I need to make this my dream once again too...for the sake of unity and blessedness in my marriage!!!

Thanks mom...I didnt read it 2 years late, I read it right on time...His time!

Too Big for ribbons and bows????

Abbie doesnt like to wear ribbons and bows anymore. :( Mamma is sad...real sad! She wants to wear her hair straight and down...When did she get an opinion on this matter??? And why do I not like it??? I think that I am going to try to pull of one more season of the bows, and then let her be a big girl. But for now, I like the idea of still having a little girl. So, because I am bigger...I am the BOSS! LOL!
