Bring It On...

Sadness: the emotion I discovered that was in my heart about 20 minutes into our Sunday School lesson.

Peace: the emotion I discovered that was in my heart about 20 minutes into worship service.

Explanation: Today, Pastor Doug---our Pastor Doug---informed us in Sunday School that he would be resigning from his position in July. He is moving on to be a Senior Pastor, and while I am excited for him, I am so sad for us. I have come to really respect and honor this man. He has become a shepherd to us, a man that I can trust. Brian and I both truly love him. He has assisted us in a transition time in our life. We will be forever grateful to him. So, this news really hit us. Saddened us. And made me realize that my time at my beloved church, was probably short lived as well. I will be saying good bye at some time in the future as well. It took my breath away to think of that day. The thought of change made me anxious and cry like a ninny, which is a sin...and I repented.

So...repented... I was sitting in worship service, trying to gather myself. And just like one of those screens that flash messages across them...The words flew on, "Bring me anything that brings You glory. Jesus bring the rain." And like that, my heart was flooded. With Peace. As long as I veiw my next journey as a walk in His refreshing rain, I can walk in Peace. I long to please God...to bring Him glory, and while the next step in life may not be easy, it will be His step. And thus it will be beautiful.

As for Pastor Doug, he too is stepping into a beautiful path. As he put it, he is in the "July" of life. He is in the excellent summer, and we are happy for him. And while I so desperatly want to be out of this "March" (you know, the month that it is not really winter, not really spring...just kinda "What is it going to be like today" month), I so love being here too. After all... March, April, and May are our rain months. They produce growth. So....here is to growth. And to a great teacher.

Apples to Apples

Sunday, we went over to a friend's house for dinner. It was so much fun! We really enjoyed ourselves. We also learned a new game! Brian, who is not a game kinda guy, loved it too. lol.

It was Apples to Apples! Totally hilarious. I didn't win, but totally hilarious! If you ever find it at a thrift store or a garage sale, it is worth it!!! And if you find one, and don't want it, just pass it on to your sweet friend Annie. hehehehehehehehehe...

Michigan Trip...aka...I love Dawn and Band Groupie Trip.

Brian and I traveled up to Detroit last weekend. We really enjoyed being together, without the kids! It was the first time that the two of us have gone away since Abbie was born. Seriously. First time that Isaac stayed the night away from us. While I missed them, I really enjoyed my grown up time...and we will have to do it again!

While we were there, Dawn and I met up with our friend Terry from HP. We ate at a "fancy" restaurant in Macy's. The food was wonderful, but the fellowship was even richer...

These are my fancy french fries with Gorgonzola Cheese, but I like to call it Gogongzolla. lol.

Isn't Frieda one of the prettiest girls??? Oh...and Dawn too.

Chilling and Checking HP. Seriously. I drove almost 7 hours to sit on Dawn's couch and check HP. :P

Breakfast with the band. Yes...our music pastor, Titus, is giving bunny ears? This was such a wonderful morning...well worth waking up early for.

Shake and Shake the Ketchup bottle...some will come and then a lot will. Or, you can try to tap your finger on the 57 sign. Which really did not work. But the shaking did. Who owned the Ketchup bottle? Me.

First Words Isaac...

Every morning , we wait to see what Isaac's first words will be. They are always just hilarious.

Sunday, his first words of the day were: "When I grow up, I am going to be a Philippine Soldier."

Today, his first words were: "Next time we go eat, I am going to get a cherry sloo-shie. Cause I love cherry sloo-shies".

The boy is about the most random kid in the world. I love it. It makes him who he is. And it reminds me that God chose his name for him. "Laughter".
