I shall YET praise Him!

I was having a discouraging time of it, the last few days. Feeling extremely guilty for a lack of trust, that I have now repented of. But non-the-less, it was there.

I have been trying to stay caught up with my Bible reading. I keep getting caught up with the story lines of the Old Testament, and find the Poetry books really hard not to just want to stop and devour them. So I stick with Genesis and Exodus! Silly me. But, last night, I decided that I NEEDED to devour some sweet savors of my Psalms reading. So I did. I started in 40 and as I got to 42, I stopped. And started reading out loud, which I never do. It was enveloping me. Caressing my wounded faith. And I sighed.

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in GOD, for I SHALL YET PRAISE HIM, Who is the health of my countenance and my God. "

God reminded me that nothing is despair. He is going to do something in our lives, and we will YET praise Him for it! He offered me Hope. He is to be what is shining on my face...not discouragement...so on I go. I am ashamed that I allowed even 24 hours of frustration to enter into my heart. But, at least it was only 24 hours, thanks to Bible reading!!!

By the way...I did pry myself away from Psalm 42, and finished through 47. Only 2 chapters to catch up on tonight! Have you read your Bible earnestly today??? It holds the key to what ails you. God Promised.

You are a Banana...

We are all bananas according to Pastor Viars. hehehehehe... It is just a matter of what kind of banana you are. Are you a rotten one? Are you a perfectly ripe one used in a sweet pudding? Or, are you a frozen one that is so hard you could hammer a nail with it? (Yes...his illustration)

Thought provoking moments there. In some areas of my life...I am rotten. In some areas, I hope that I am tender enough to be a sweet treat, and then there are areas that I am hard enough for nails. It was a good sermon. I found myself encouraged to grow more yellow and tender, even though the beauty of the falling snow was consuming my thoughts as well... Good Sunday!!!!

BUT, even moreso than the sermon...the song that is now playing on my playlist...lifted me in an amazing way. I am going to highlight a few phrases that I think are incredible.

From The Inside Out by Hillsong
A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades --- I love the thought of
my
Lord's name being called Everlasting.
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame ---again, who else is worthy of a
name such as
Never Ending?
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise-- I am sure that many find this
to mean, losing control of yourself. I don't think this is the meaning that was
intended. I think that the writer meant, letting loose of the selfish ways in
our hearts so that we can truly glorify God. If we hold onto any part of our
wickedself, we can not praise nor glorify Him.

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord --- To praise on the outside is easy to do,
it
requires no surrender. To praise and glorify from the heart...requires
complete
abandonment of your desire and self.
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Chorus 2x
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out

Oh Good Grief...

What is our world coming to? Thought you might want to sign this petition...

There is actually an Abortion Bailout Package that has recently been proposed. Yes, you read that right. To the tune of 1.5 Billion dollars. I am a little upset. I can not get the state, nor any insurance company, to fund a medicine that will stop my unborn child from dying....AND YET---Our government would consider giving 1.5 billion to kill a child. Really? You know I don't get hot into politics, but this is just wrong.

Here is the link to where you can sign the petition to stop it...

Susan B Anthony Site for Protection of the Unborn Child

If that link did not work, please go to THIS ONE, and search for it. It is that important, at least to me.

I have officially had to much TEA to drink...

I can't go to sleep. Mickey D Sweet Tea has completely taken over my body now. lol. I am going to go read ahead on my Bible reading for the week, since I have all this bundled up energy. And no-one else in their right mind is up at almost 1:00am!

BUT...I just had to post the lyrics to this song. No, I DO NOT...let me repeat that again...I DO NOT listen to this group! I just happened to hear this song over the radio at Once Upon a Child. (Tea kicking in again...I am now singing the Once upon a child theme song...get back on task Annie...)

If I Had $1,000,000 lyrics

If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a house (I would buy you a house)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a K-Car (a nice Reliant automobile)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love.
If I Had $1000000 I'd build a tree fort in our yard.
If I Had $1000000 You could help, it wouldn't be that hard.
If I Had $1000000 (Maybe we could put a little tiny fridge in there somwhere.)
We could just go up and hang out. (Open the fridge and stuff. There would be
food laid out for us, little pre-wrapped sausages and things.) Mmmm. (They have
pre-wrapped sausages but they don't have pre-wrapped bacon.) Can you blame
them? (Well, yeah!)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you an exotic pet (Like a llama or an emu)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you John Merrick's remains (ooh all them crazy elephant bones)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love
If I Had $1000000 We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I Had $1000000 We'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I Had $1000000 We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner.
But we would eat Kraft Dinner. Well of course we would we'd just eat more. And
buy all the fanciest ketchups for it...dijon ketchup! Mmmm..
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress that's cruel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you some art (a Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I Had $1000000 (If I Had $1000000)
I'd buy you a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monkey?)
If I Had $1000000 I'd buy your love
If I Had $1000000, If I Had $1000000
If I Had $1000000, If I Had $1000000
If I Had $1000000
I'd be rich.

Monkey Man...

My little boy, is 4. I can't believe that another year has passed. He has grown into such kid now.

  • He now thinks girls are gross (thanks Uncle Abel)
  • He has to wear his hair a certain way
  • He loves doing his K-4 "work"
  • Taco salads are his favorite
  • He still is so skinny that he can't keep his pants up
  • Ranch salad dressing still makes him breakout
  • He thinks that Tom Jerry is the best
  • He wants to be a Pirate when he grows up
  • He says he is going to marry me.

I love this boy!

Are Your Shoes Worn Yet???

Last March, I had my first charm and grace boy. Running Boy. Do you remember him??? Here is the post: Running Boy . I think about him often. Wondering what his life is like. Not really knowing much about him, and not even really knowing what his face looks like up close.

He was out again this Sunday. With those precious shoes on again. And a lovely Gray PARKA! Furry Hood and all, pulled up over his face. lol. In the cold, the boy was still running for the place of worship. It made me go back and check out the past year to see if I too was still running.

I wish that I could say that there is always a spry step in my run, but honestly, I walk or jog into church at least 1 out of 6 services. Running the other 5 times. The 8:00 am service is getting to me! lol. We have more responsibilities in the church this year than we did last, so we have to focus on that a bit more than just pure worship. I must admit, I am looking forward to enjoying some pure worship time soon! But, my shoes are getting worn. Which in and of itself is a beautiful thing.

Seeing running boy, encouraged my heart. I was warmed, on a cold day, to see this boy still running after what is pure. I feel so blessed to have worn running shoes. I am glad that they are no longer sitting on the shelf. I am glad that the depths of my soul still longs for the House of the Lord! And I am thrilled to be running along side that sweet boy. What do your running shoes look like? Do they still look brand new and are sitting on a shelf? Are they to that awesome stage, that shows that you have been keeping a steady pace...running to Christ??? What will they look like next year?

A Little Bit of a Catch Up--

Brian has been off of work since Christmas Eve, so the computer time has been scarce.

We had a wonderful Christmas, and week following. Peaceful, which is always a great blessing! The kids loved their gifts, of course. We had some stuffing soup at Denny's. Watched the new Adam Sandler movie. Visited 3 states in one day. Saw a Dragon. And even got a Kitchen Sink, somewhere along the way! Yes, we had a busy, peaceful, fun, productive couple of weeks. :)

Just going to do some pictures, and will back a little later to write a post for Jamie on the Monday Matchups!

Home-made Christmas at the Shaw's...taken from Sunny's cue, we made a lot of gifts this year. This was a crayon roll that I did for Abbie's class gift exchange. We made crayon rolls, super hero capes, and aprons.

I love how it looks like Jake and Isaac are giving Abs the "You are so weird" look. It should be the other way around, honestly.

The Great Grandkids...
Me with Brian's cousins...Amber and Sarah. Ummm...I need to push my glasses up.
Mimi and Uncle Justin are just awesome. Abs thought it was great that they would
play Chutes and Ladders with her.
Ummm...yeah, not awake yet.
He was trying to decide which chocolate to eat first.
Abbie opening her playstation...that she thought was a DVD player. lol
Daddy is as excited about the Playstation as the kids! He and Abbie love it, Isaac, well...he doesn't sit still long enough to love it.
A human sacrifice...lol. Some friends took Brian and I to the Creation Museum on New Years day. It was a great double date! And poor Owen tagged along...and was fed to lots of Dinosaurs.
This was Brian's Dragon.
And this is what Brian looked like when he can't find a clean towel.
For some reason, the verses that were on the walls at the museum, meant so much to me! I enjoyed them, more than anything else! This one really stands out to me. It reminds me that when we look closely and pay attention...we see God's fingerprints everywhere.

As we were leaving the museum, we realized that we did not take a picture of ourselves there! What? So we took a self portrait in the parking lot.

Thanks for sharing our Christmas with us. I hope that you all had an equally wonderful one!
