Can I just say...

I am so excited over the kids costumes??? Most years, I love piecing their outfits together, but this year, I just have felt horrible. BUT, I stuck to it, and finished them. They are sweet.

And Shhhhhhh.... Don't tell the kids, but they get to go trick or treating tonight! It is a surprise! We were planning on going to Nana's tomorrow night, so I did not even think about Attica's night. Sara emailed me and asked if we were taking the kids out tonight...ummmm no, tonight is not Trick or Treat night. As it figures, Attica is as strange as they come. They are having Trick or Treat tonight on account of the businesses wanting it this way??? No idea why, and it seems absurd, but hey---we get Trick or Treating 2 times! lol. I decided not to tell the kids. They think that they are dressing up to go show our neighbor their outfits. She is on of their biggests fans. :) Be back later with pictures.

An American Girl

Abbie really enjoyed her party. She giggled, stamped her feet, and smiled all day long. Then came home and got sick all night long...poor girl. I did a horrible job with pictures that day. So sorry! I decided not to use most of the good ones, because I do not have the parents permission to share their child on the internet. And, I think something is wrong with my camera, because everything is coming up fuzzy. Going to have to check it out.

We ended up with a nice size group of girls, and took up 3 rows in the theater. I think that all the girls enjoyed themselves, as well as the adults. The girls were so cute all gathering around looking at the presents and such. And they sat so well during the movie! I was shocked. I was a proud Mamma to be sharing such an event with my ever growing daughter. Kind of emotional to think that just 7 years ago, she was so tiny. Anyhow, enough babbling, here are the pictures...

No Monday Matchups...

I just wanted to let you know that I would not be doing Monday Matchups just yet. We have had the stomach flu this weekend, and I was that last victim. Still not 100% percent. Kinda chilling today. I will try to get on this afternoon or evening and get them done, plus post some pictures of Abbie's party!

Traaaadddiiitttioooonnn.... Tradition!

Yes, Insert the Fiddler On The Roof music there. :P

Abbie and I revived an old Pulliam tradition today. It was the first time in our house.

As a child, we would always have a "party" ---or at least that is what it seemed like to me---whenever it was time to get our winter and summer clothes down. We always stored them in the Attic. Mom would turn on music, we girls would shout with glee over our long lost favorite shirt, and then fight over who it really belonged to. We would run our clothes back to our rooms, and I am sure that it was the ONLY time in the year that we were excited about putting out clothes away! Then, we would wear that fuzzy black sweater with the bright colored shapes (thinking about Nicky's sweater that we envied and then the glorious day that she passed it down!)

Today, was our very first day of getting the clothes out. In the past years, I have always just stored them in the closet, and the kids clothes would be sold on Ebay, since they had outgrown them. This year, Abbie actually had clothes. Isaac had a small pile, but they all look too small. Abbie thought it was just the neatest thing in the world, and asked if we could do it again next year. Lol. I told her of course. We have to get the summer stuff out in the spring!

So...here is to another great fall tradition!

More Charm and Grace....

Sunday worship was once again wonderful. I tell you, I think that I forgot the reason why I went to church sometime in the past 8 years. At first, I thought that I was unhappy because I was not learning. (It is kind of hard to learn when you are never in the class or service!!!) And I thought that was the main reason that we started going to Faith. But, I was so wrong. Yes, learning is a BIG part of going to church. BUT, worship is AT LEAST equal. Why in the world do people think that they can get by without worshiping??? I am floored by the fact that there are so many out there in the world that can LEARN and SERVE to the ends of time, but do not experience worship. A lost person can learn. A lost person can serve. But a lost person can not have that one on one worship time with their Lord.

It is rather sad actually. I am worried for the Christians in the world who do not participate in worship that actually engages their souls to Christ. For the Christians who create a repetitious worship that means very little more than, "Stand at the right time, sit at the right time, make sure that my voice is loud and strong, and Can I sing this song from memory b/c it is an old tried and true one?" This goes all the way across the board. From the Hymn only Christians, to the Rock n Roll Christians. If you are a not really EMOTIONALLY engaged in worship--connecting with the Lord, then really...WHAT IS THE POINT??? Why are you singing???

Ok...so the reason for my soapbox was this: I experienced a wonderful worship time. It not only involved my Lord, but it encompassed my entire church body. I think I remember only feeling this maybe a few times in my life. We were singing "How great is our God...and all will sing How Great is our God". Just as my mind was processing the words "and all will sing", the entire orchestra dropped out, and we started singing "How Great Thou Art". I have chills now as I am remembering the feeling in the air as this body of believers were "all singing" "How great THOU art!". I have often tried to imagine that I was singing in Heaven with my church family. Most of the time, it was an artificial feeling and I never felt the Lord there...just a bunch of people singing. Sunday, I felt in the presence of God. With all of these brothers and sisters joining me in song. It was amazing. I am forever thankful for these times in my life. For that Living Water...so that I thirst no more. I didn't even know what I was thirsting for!!!

Now---on to the charm and grace. Lol---sorry about that! Brian and I have been watching two young men in our church. One is a Guitar Player for worship, and the other is a Teacher in WNKOF (Wednesday night kids of Faith---not to be confused with NKOTB :P) We know the name of Teacher Boy, but not of Guitar Boy. Teacher Boy is one of the reasons that we chose to stay at Faith. He worked with Isaac, and was just amazing with him. He is always faithful, respectful, and happy. He loves the kids with a heart that is just obvious to anyone who watches him. He is a good looking kid, and looks like he would have plenty of friends and plenty of "other options" to spend his Sundays and Wednesdays doing...and yet, he is there every week...welcoming them in. Guitar Boy...well, he plays the guitar. Lol. I have not seen him interact with others, but we love to watch him worship. He puts his heart and soul into it. Not with a fakey attitude, but a humble one. He too is faithful. On Sunday, Brian leaned over and told me, "That young man gives me hope that Abbie will be able to find a good husband." It made me cry too. But, it is true. These two young men, have more honor than alot of men that are 2-3 times their age. They possess Charm and Grace. Thanks for meeting Teacher Boy and Guitar Boy.

We Love Fall!!!

Oh How We Love Fall... Today was just a fun fall day. The kids helped me all week selling on Ebay so that they could go to the Pumpkin Patch today. We did a cornmaze, picked our pumpkin, got a smelly good candle, but ran out of time for the hayride :( There was a pumpkin hunt in the maze. The kids just thought that was awesome. They did find a pumpkin. #25. Out of the 5 hidden, we only found 2 of them! That maze was HUGE~ It was the first one that Brian and I had fully done. We decided that it will probably be a new tradition for our family. It was just so much fun.

Here are all the pictures ... Sorry there are so many!!

Check out the smile...now missing 3 teeth!!! She is so funny.

The lucky #25 Pumpkin

Not sure what Brian is doing, but he didn't want to look normal. ???

Taken By Isaac...again with a non-normal Brian.

Isaac had to lead the way...He told me, "Yup...it's this way, I'm feelin' it mom."

Their final choice of pumpkins. Abbies is name Mr Gummy. It was sticky.

Ummmm...taken by Abbie. Not sure why though.

The Tree...

While there are many things to dislike about Attica, In...I have a few things that I still treasure. And I will miss them when I leave.

One of those few things, is The Tree. There is a tree that I can see out of my Kitchen window. I can also see it well from the back yard. Every year, it is so beautiful in the fall and winter. It has a BRIGHT gold leaf each fall. It became my tree in the fall of 2002. We lost our first Heaven bound baby in October of 2002. I remember hearing Cami from Dr Furr's office explain it all to me. Guess what??? It was raining. I was looking out the window...at my tree. And trying very hard to hold my breath so that I would not cry while she was on the phone. It was such an early loss. I didn't think I was supposed to be sad over it...even though I really was. I later became very aware that you must process the grief, otherwise it piles on. The sky was darker, and it had rained, so the leaves stood out against it in a Grand God way. I remember feeling the dampness in the air. We had the window opened, and I can remember hearing the tiny drops of rain hitting the leaves on the ground. For some reason, I don't remember hearing any cars and such, which is quite amazing since we live on a busy corner.

This tree is a tree of promise. One year while looking on it, I was thinking about naming it the Golden Tree... (You know how I name everything) and the thought of my children being in The Perfect Place with streets of Gold. I like to picture trees like this in Heaven. Although, I am not sure if that is really logical or not. Do trees and leaves die in Heaven? There is a pondering thought for the day... Sorry, rambling, ADD you know! :P Anyhow...even if I do not see my fall trees in Heaven, I will see my children. They will be whole...perfect...without sin...lacking nothing. Created just as God had planned. How awesome of a promise is that?

Anyhow, please remember with all those who have lost little ones. Remember that their mommy and daddy hearts are hurting...not just today on National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Rememberance Day, but many days.

Mmmm mmmm Good.

You know that awesome feeling of eating warm, creamy Campbell's soup on a cold day? When the kitchen is toasty and the windows are all frosted up. And you put the bowl up to your face to slurp from it??? And the steam causes condensation on your nose? That mmm mmm good feeling??? I felt that yesterday. Pretty much all day. And not because it was toasty cool and we ate soup (which we did).

Services were just amazing. Everytime I question why we are in Lafayette, and why we are not in the ministry full time, God answers back with that mmmm mmmm good feeling. Ok, technically, I was not "feeling" good, I hurt so bad I was sick to my tummy. BUT, my heart was feeling the soup. Amazing worship time. Incredible speaker in Sunday School. The Holy Spirit was as thick as Tomato soup. You could just feel His precense moving and directing. I loved it. I soaked it in like the warmth of the steam coming off my Campbells. There were times yesterday that I felt that I could not take anymore conviction and intamacy with God, and then the more came anyhow. Truly a wonderful feeling.

We had a soup dinner afterwards. Yummy stuff. I made Zuppa da Buppa---ok, so it is really called Zuppa Tuscana, but I think Zuppa da Buppa is more fun to say. The kids had a ball.

Saturday, we were suprised by a visit from long lost Jeremy and Leah!!!! Yipppppeee. It was wonderful to see Brian and Jeremy together. As soon as they saw each other, they embraced in an embrace that would remind you of Jonathan and David. And we really enjoyed being together, despite the crazy bees and the undercooked hamburgers.

I am continually thrown off by how happy one can be. I regret the years of unhappiness in my life. I have been very aware of learning how to never be in that place again. God has brought us out of Eygpt. I will strive to not be a grumbling Israelite and ask God why we are traveling in the wilderness right now. I will strive to keep this mmmm mmmmm good feeling all the days of my little life. Tomato soup is worth the strife.
